From 20. to 22. January 2017 in Mavrovo was held training for investigative journalism on issues of local importance. The participants were 16 journalists from local media from Strumica, Radovis, Stip, Kocani, Ohrid, Bitola, Gostivar, Prilep and Skopje.
Lecturers at the training were Snezana Lupevska Sozen, an investigative journalist and editor, Pavle Gacov, president of the association of tax advisors and Tamara Chausidis, editor of BIRN Macedonia.


Subject of the training were techniques of investigative journalism, sources and techniques of interviewing, using documents, social media and other sources, following the work of local public institutions, research on charging and spending of municipal budgets, exploring the work of local public enterprises, “MOJO” investigative journalism “packaging” of research story and tips on how to come up with ideas for investigative stories.
In terms of practical work was talked about overcoming the difficulties and obstacles in the research and development of potential investigative stories.
Training is part of the “Investigative reporting to boost reforms” funded by the European Union.
